H.E Dr. Ergogie host USAID Delegates

(24 February 2023) H.E Dr. ErgogieTesfaye, Minister of Women and Social Affairs hosted USAID delegate led by Mr. Sean Jones,Mission Director USAID Ethiopia and Djibouti at her office. ,The Minister thanked USAID for the contribution of humanitarian assistance that had been made so far and right now on supporting integrated youth activity called “Kefeta” and hopping that this strong cooperation would be strengthening in the future, she said

H.E Dr. Ergogie briefed the mandate and responsibility of the ministry encompassing the social protection of women, children, youth, persons with disabilities, elderly, migrant returnees and destitute people. Hence, USAID is one of the stakeholders that support as whenever we are in challenge.In this caseKefeta  is being  supported by USAID  to empower Ethiopian youth to positive change and to become agents of peace and stability in their own communities, she added.

Mr.Sean Jonesin his part, briefed that funding from USAID, Kefeta is remodeling youth service outlets in selected youth centers, health centers, higher learning institutions, and industrial parks to expand access to essential services, including banking and healthcare. In the coming months plan has been set to work with Kefeta on peace dialogue, arts and culture, sports, games and other activities to bringpositive change in their communities he added.
